Krishnagiri-Puducherry NH requires repair

Mr. Sugavanam made an appeal at the Lok Saba recently that the NH 66 was converted to National Highways three years ago, immediately after that the government allocated Rs. 700 crore for repairing the damaged road. In spite of this, the maintenance work is yet to start on this stretch of 200 km.

The M.P. demands the Ministry of Highways to take up the project on SOS basis to benefit lakhs of people including foreigners who throng in large numbers at the Thiruvannamalai Shrine Temple and the GIPMER hospital and Aravindar Ashram in Puducherry.

Due to the absence of maintenance work, the road was badly damaged and the condition was unmotorable in several stretches leading to frequent accidents.
