In a raid at Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday, sleuths of the video piracy cell attached to the CB-CID seized seven master DVDs of the yet-to-be-released Sarath Kumar-starrer Jaggubhai and arrested two men.The movie, which is slated for a Pongal release, was purportedly downloaded from a web portal on which it was uploaded last week. The arrests came within a few days after Chennai city police arrested the web portal owner here for allegedly uploading the film on his website, and seized 4,000 pirated CDs of the film in different raids in Chennai. Acting on a tip-off on Wednesday, police arrested two persons J K alias J Krishnan (32) of Bangalore and Subhash (38) of Hosur for making pirated DVDs of Jaggubhai after downloading the film from the web portal. When the two men had taken the help of other persons to make copies from the master copy taken from the web portal, we got information and nabbed them,” DSP Rajendran of the Video Piracy Cell told ‘Express’.Police said they also seized 3,000 CD wrappers of the film besides 2,000 other pirated CDs and DVDs, including those of new films Vettaikaran, Avatar, Naan Avan Illai, Aadhavan, Kandha Kottai and Rudhran (2012) and 20,000 wrappers of other films.
