NCC cadets take out AIDS awareness rally

They highlight need to prevent disease from spreading

Students Took AIDS Awareness rally in Krishnagiri


Cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) from Government Higher Secondary School took out an awareness rally on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), which severely affects the immune system in the human body, here on Friday.

The rally was flagged off by District Collector Pooja Kulkarni in the presence of the Chief Educational Officer S. Suganya and Resident Medical Officer Dr. Masilamani of the Government Headquarters Hospital, in Krishnagiri on Friday.

Over four hundred NCC cadets from Government Higher Secondary Schools in Krishnagiri, Elathagiri, Bargur, Kaveripattinam, Magalachinnampalli, Barur and Nagarasampatti in the district, participated in the rally.
Participating students raised slogans on the ill effects of HIV and carried placards with messages on the need to avoid HIV infection and the possibility of transmitting the disease to others.

The placards said that the killer virus attacks the immune system of the human body and leaves the body vulnerable to a variety of life-threatening infections and disorders.

The AIDS awareness rally started near the Government Boys Higher Secondary School on Gandhi Road in the town and went through the Five Road Junction, Taluk Office, Gandhi Road, Government Headquarters Hospital before ending at the starting point.
