HOSUR: A major fire accident was averted due to the timely intervention of the revenue officials near Hosur on Monday.
R. Muniraj, Tahsildhar, told ‘The Hindu’ that the scrap materials that were kept in a private plastic recycling company on the Bagalur Road caught fire in the afternoon. Fire-tenders were called from Hosur, Krishnagiri and Denkanikottai. The fire was put out with the help of the chemical foam brought from the Ashok Leyland unit.
Soon after the fire was noticed, TNEB officials were asked to shutdown power and a nearby TASMAC shop was also ordered to be closed to avert major accident, Mr. Muniraj said.
