Heavy rush at District Employment Exchange

A total of 1,190 people, including 660 women, registered their B.Ed qualifications with the District Employment Office here on Monday, said K. Gandhi, Employment Officer on Tuesday.

He said four special counters, two each for men and women, were opened at the exchange to clear the mad rush to ensure the seniority in government postings.

Men and women thronged the exchange at the cooperative colony from early morning. Most of them came with their spouses and children and parents.

Police personnel were deployed to control the crowd.

Candidates were made to sit on the terrace of the building for certificate verifications prior to the registration.

Candidates who have finished their B.Ed in other districts and native of Krishnagiri district were allowed to register their names.
