253 secondary grade teachers appointed in Krishnagiri



KRISHNAGIRI: As many as 253 vacant posts in various government, municipal and panchayat union schools in Krishnagiri district were filled up through the seniority list in employment exchange during this academic year (2009-10).
About 167 candidates received their appointment orders from Collector V.K. Shanmugam at the District Institute of Teacher Education in Krishnagiri on Monday.
Appointment orders for the rest of the 86 teachers will be sent to their residential address by post.
During the last academic year (2008-09), 217 teachers were appointed in the district.
With this, as many as 1,040 teachers were appointed in the district from Elementary to Higher Secondary level, said an official from the education department.
With this appointment, 28 schools run with one teacher each will get one more teacher. And a panchayat union school with a student strength of 59, functioning so far without a teacher, got one. Total number of appointments in secondary grade in the state was 2,039 including 760 men, the official added.
