Heavy rain lashes Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri

Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurred at many parts of Krishangiri and Dharmapuri districts on Monday evening.

Widespread rain occurred at Dharmapuri, Pennagaram, Harur and Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district.

Power supply was affected at many places as TNEB officials took precaution to prevent untoward incidents. Trees got uprooted at Anchetti and Denkanikottai.

A coconut tree was caught fire in the lightning at Theerthagiri Valasai village in Vellakkuttai Panchayat near Uthangarai.

Rainfall

Theerthagiri, tahsildar, Uthangarai, visited the affected places.

Anchetti registered a maximum rain of 37 mm. Rainfall registered in Krishnagiri district are: Hosur and Nedungal 26 mm, Denkanikottai 24, Uthangarai 19, Royakottai 18, Krishnagiri 16 and Thaly 7 mm.
