Local people seek improvement of basic amenities

Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural 
Development K.P. Munusamy inaugurated ten road works under the Pooled 
Assigned Revenue Scheme for 2012-13 and also under the Tamil Nadu 
Village Habitations Improvement (THAI) scheme for 2012-13, costing Rs. 
2.11-crore.
Mini pumps
He 
also commissioned three mini pumps with plastic tanks for drinking water
 at a cost of Rs. 4.5 lakh under the Panchayat Union Central Fund for 
2011-12 in the Krishnagiri Panchayat Union on Sunday.
On the occasion, people made various pleas to improve basic amenities such as provision of roadside drainage and community hall.
He
 directed the Block Development Officer to look into the issues raised 
by the people and asked him to prepare estimates for the demands of the 
public.
The Minister asked the president of the Kattiganapalli panchayat to replace the damaged overhead tank at Tiruvalluvar Nagar.
Community hall
Residents
 of the new TNHB Colony requested the Minister to take steps to 
construct a community hall at a public place for the benefit of the 
local people.
Mr. Munusamy said the request would be considered.
He
 also inaugurated water supply through plastic tanks attached with mini 
pump and bore well at a cost of Rs. 4.5 lakh at Kittampatti Colony, 
Madamandai village and Mecherikottai village.
K. Ashok Kumar, Chairman, District Panchayat and officials from the District Rural Development Agency accompanied the Minister.
