Rs. 37 lakh allocated for laying road in Police Housing Colony

Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development K.P. Munusamy has allocated Rs. 36.75 lakh under the MLA Local Area Development Fund for laying black-top road for the Police Housing Colony in Krishnagiri.

The road-laying work was inaugurated by the Minister recently in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, M. Ashok Kumar.

On the occasion, the Minister also inaugurated sapling planting drive around the colony. Lauding the good work done by the Superintendent of Police, the Minister assured to extend the Hogenakkal Water Scheme to the Police Housing Colony.

He also assured to upgrade the facilities at the Armed Reserve Police Grounds in Krishnagiri.

K. Ashok Kumar, Chairman, District Panchayat, J. Dhanasekaran, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, and .R. Senthil Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, among others participated, a release said. Mr. Munusamy also gave away gold for mangal sutra and financial assistance to 602 beneficiaries to the tune of Rs. 1.70 crore in the presence of the District Collector, Pooja Kulkarni, recently.

Distributing the gold coins and marriage assistance, Mr. Munusamy said that in the first two quarters during the financial year, 1,600 beneficiaries were given gold and marriage assistance to the tune of Rs. 4.62 crore.
He lauded the efforts of the District Collector, Pooja Kulkarni, for her efforts to eradicate child marriages in the district. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the district administration to wean out the menace of child marriages.

Mr. Munusamy appealed to the beneficiaries to give good education to their wards, especially girls, as it will help them develop in their life and the economy as well.
