N.S.M. Gowda, District Secretary of Janata Dal (Secular) was nominated
by the party to contest from Krishnagiri constituency. This was
announced by Mr. Gowda to journalists here. He said that he was defeated
in the 2011 assembly elections from Thally constituency with a margin
of a few thousand votes against the Communist Party of India candidate
T. Ramachandran. The two left parties CPI and CPI (M) are supporting the
party in the Lok Sabha elections, he said. Party leader and former
Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda would campaign for him in the
constituency in April. Mr. Gowda was the district secretary of the party
for the last fourteen years.
