Compensation given to Farmers whose crops were damaged by wild elephants

As many as six farmers whose crops were damaged by wild elephants in Krishnagiri and Hosur Forest Ranges were given compensation to the tune of Rs. 72,000 on Monday.

The cheques were distributed to the farmers at the weekly grievances redress day programme held by District Collector T.P. Rajesh. Mr. Rajesh also received 232 petitions from the public and 14 petitions from differently abled persons, says a release.
