The police on Tuesday rescued a 41-year old software
engineer within hours of his abduction by his brother and two relatives
here on Monday night.
According to the police, T.
Harigopalakrishnan (41) was abducted near his residence in KCC Nagar in
Hosur on Monday night by three men while he was returning from his
office in Bangalore.Financial transactions between the relatives were
said to be reason for the abduction. Harigopalakrishnan’s wife who saw
him being abducted alerted HUDCO police. HUDCO Inspector P.M. Thangavel
alerted the highway mobile patrol team and chased the car and rescued
the professional near Krishnagiri Toll Gate on the National Highway
within hours.A case has been registered against the abductor under
sections 364 (kidnapping) 307 (attempt to murder) 324 (voluntarily
causing hurt) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code.
The
abductors arrested were V. Agathiyan (29), V. Jaya Vikraman (36) and T.
Kavi Prabhakaran (28) of Hosur. They were produced before the court and
remanded in judicial custody.
